Bear with me… This is a share from the heart. ❤️
I’ve been away at two great conferences. The Write His Answer Conference was about writing my book in an effort to share a message with the world (I have news… another time!). The Purpose Summit was all about knowing your purpose and using business as a force for good.
You can imagine how fired up I was!
Then I received word that a podcast about digging deep to fly high was about to go live. I was honored to be the guest and the conversation with Karl Staib was a blast. I was really excited to share it with you.
You can imagine how fired up I was!
And then 19 children and two teachers were gunned down in Uvalde, Texas.
Ten days after ten people were massacred in Buffalo, NY.
All while we hear horrific news of the war in Ukraine.
And it begs many questions.
One that has rolled around my mind is… is it appropriate to talk of things of joy and goodness when we live in a world that’s entrenched in brokenness and pain?
Is it fluffy?
Is it insensitive?
I’ll be honest, these are things I had to consider.
But not for long.
The way I see it, and maybe you saw me tearfully sharing about this, the #feelgood message has never been more important.
Remember, feeling good has two parts:
1️⃣ It feels good to feel good personally.
2️⃣ It feeIs good to share our joy with a world in need.
We don’t do this by denying that problems and sadness exist.
Sometimes, all we can do is sit in the hurt and allow ourselves to feel it.
Don’t rush the “sitting in the hurt” part, it’s important for healing.
But don’t stay there forever.
Joy and pain can coexist.
When you are ready to move forward out of the sadness and into joy and goodness, you may have to do a little work to get connected with them.
That’s ok. You are worth the work. And so is the world you live in.
So, I’m going to share that podcast interview. It can help you.
It’s not insensitive to talk about things of joy. It’s not fluffy.
It’s essential.
Here it is.

I hope that you make time to listen. Comment. Share.
And I hope that you move out of the hurt and into hope.
It feels good to feel good. #feelgood.

Until next time…
